This Windows-based software solution lets you track detailed printer and consumable usage information by printer, user, project, department or cost center. Automated reports, in-depth cost information and customized data help you target waste, forecast future printing needs, and allocate printing costs to the appropriate parties. MegaTrack's Quota Module helps control costs by allowing Administrators to set print page limits per user. The MIPA (MegaTrack In Printer Agent) and DTM (Direct Tracking Module) module enables data tracking at the printer level. The MegaTrack In Printer Agent (MIPA) lets you record and monitor printer and MFP activity directly at the device, enhancing accountability and giving you the ability to assign costs, forecast expenses and target waste and abuse. By collecting data directly inside the printer or MFP device, this “in printer” solution provides a significantly more precise accounting of printer activity than methods that rely on SNMP traps or MIB polling. It also offers the ability to track copy, fax and digital sending activity on MFP devices.
MIPA PIN tracks printer and mfp usage directly inside the device, offering improved accuracy and reliability over SNMP traps and MIB polling methods. Each time the printer or mfp is used, MIPA PIN collects important data about the job and records this data to either the printer’s hard disk or to a small amount of compact flash memory. This data can then be accessed and uploaded using the MegaTrack Reporting Tool (MRT), providing an easy way to track printer and mfp usage by user, department, project or cost center. Additionally, administrators can track consumption of paper and toner, color vs. black and white print use and more, helping to better forecast future printer and consumable requirements.
