Printing Client / Port Monitor

Print job data distribution and print fail-over is based on a print client that ensures:

  • The data is automatically routed to accessible server.
  • Standard vendor provided print drivers are used.
  • The list of servers is updated automatically by every print.
  • Print job data stream can be optionally compressed (up to 60%).

Deployment

It is necessary to install printers and printing client on every workstation, however fully automated deployment is available. Distribution systems (like MS SMS) are supported by the installator. Unattended MSI packages are available for MS Windows 9x/Me/2000/XP/2003 systems in all editions.

Server requirements

All the servers in the cluster have to run the same operating system. OS-level clustering is not required and the cluster support on the database level is not necessary. Highspeed (1GB) network connection among the servers is mandatory for correct operation.
