Document templates created by Capella Technologies FormPort Designer can contain graphics and logos, lines and “static” text in a variety of fonts and sizes. The forms also contain placeholders or fi elds for the incoming data from your legacy enterprise applications. The form designer can control the placement of these fields, the typeface style for this data and the font size.
Determining which data gets placed into a specifi c fi eld is a surprisingly simple process. One only needs a sample of output from the desired enterprise application - including popular applications such as JDE or Oracle.
The enterprise application user prints as if they were outputting to a line printer. Instead of sending the data to a printer, however, the output is captured into an ASCII print fi le.
Using a simple, windows-based print mapping program, the FormPort Designer user can examine the various blocks of data within the ASCII print stream and associate these blocks with specific fields in the form template. It’s that simple!
The imported data can even be formatted as MICR encoded text and barcodes, making the Capella FormPort Designer an ideal tool for creating checks, packing slips and more. FormPort Designer is so fl exible, you can even create forms designed for specific clients and money-saving self-mailing forms.
FormPort Designer formats plain text data independent of the original application. As a result, you can format data with complete consistency across multiple applications and even multiple platforms, strengthening your organization’s branding and providing a more cohesive and professional image.
As part of a complete FormPort printing solution, FormPort Designer gives organizations the ability to avoid the cost and storage requirements of expensive, infl exible pre-printed forms, while also avoiding the expense of an outside design service.
