A unique multiport print data stream appliance

The Fontware DataSTORM print Appliance is a unique turnkey multiport print datastream manipulation gateway that acts like a print server and network bridge. It is possible to modify and add logical functions including search and replace, triggers, variables and reprint, to produce user defined output on a per queue/printer basis. Forms, macros and fonts can be stored within the device and manipulated on individual page. The output can be distributed as a whole or in part to any printer on the network or connected to the DataSTORM’s local USB ports. An easy web interface is included to aid in command generation. For more complex functions the user has access to the full command set via an editable configuration file.

DataSTORM includes a Powerful PCL5 engine with Printer emulation support for Kyocera PreScribe, Epson FS100 and IBM Proprinter, which will allow the user to print on PCL printer/MFD’s.

Specialist application support for SAP Unicode printing: Including Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai,

Seamless integration with leading ERP applications including SAP R/3, Peoplesoft, BAAN, JD Edwards and Oracle.

The Fontware DataSTORM connects to a 10baseT/100baseTX network and can support up to 4 printers connected to it’s on board USB ports and depending how the unit is licensed up to 50 network attached printers can be served with print data parsing, font and form management, job control, string control.

The DataSTORM platform allows for project based Customisation.

Print To PDF & Archive To PDF Module:

This allows certain print queues to be set up to automatically generate a PDF of every page printed & then archived. PDFs are versatile as you can search on them & they can be date/time stamped. It basically offers much of the functionality of much more expensive server based solutions for a fraction of the cost & without the need to install & maintain additional software on servers etc.

Product Features

Connects to a 10baseT/100baseTX TCP/IP network & can support up to 4 x PCL printers connected to it's on board USB 1.1 ports & depending how the unit is licensed up to 50 network attached PCL printers can be served with barcodes, fonts and overlays.

Most PCL printers & multi-function devices are supported & can be driven from any system that supports LPR or RAW port printing. The user can store custom Fonts, Logos & overlays.

This storage area can be expanded to nearly 1Gb. Fonts & overlays stored on the unit can be associated with any particular output port for custom printing on each printer connected or bridged by the unit.

Overlays and forms can be generated from applications and then loaded and managed from the web interface.
