In many cases the quality, consistency and reliability of your printing and the load on your network also suffers.

The BarcodeSOS Module eases your printing process for many of your applications, by letting your HP LaserJet printer look after the quick and efficient printing of barcodes, OCR Fonts as well as Euro and packaging symbols.

How the Barcode SOS Module works

The Barcode SOS Module is inserted in your HP LaserJet printer just like a memory expansion, instantly adding to the printer’s repertoire the ability to print barcodes, OCR fonts for address and cheque printing, and a range of symbols including the Euro and many standard, international packaging symbols. You send the printer the information for the barcode and its formatting, and the Barcode SOS Module prints the barcode. The high print quality of today’s HP LaserJet printers ensures barcodes that are easily read by all kinds of barcode reader, and the minimal data required reduces the load on the host system and the network.

Characteristics

  • OCR-A1, CMC7, and MICR, e.g. for chequeprinting; OCR-B, e.g. for ID cards (free scalability).
  • All barcodes, OCR and line-draw fonts from the “Bar Codes & More“ cassette (c2053A#c06).
  • Scalable barcodes: 2of5 industry, 2of5 interleaved, 2of5 matrix, Codabar, Code 128 A/B/C, Code 39 (Code 3of9) and 39 extended, Code 93 and 93
  • extended, Deutsche Post AG direction and identcode, UCC-128, EAN 128, MSI, EAN 8 and 13, UPC-A, UPC-E 0 and 1, EAN Velocity, EAN/UPC Addon 2, EAN/UPC Addon 5.
  • Fixed size barcodes: KIX Code (Netherlands postal service), 4-State.
  • Interleaving and checksums can be calculated using an application supplied with the module.
  • Optional printout of plain text possible (except Code 128).
  • Scalable symbols, e.g. Euro currency symbol, glass breakage, explosive, recyclable, skull, etc.
  • Product tag VDA4902 Version 3 (Odette), including symbol for safety parts.
